Instagram Stories Hits 400 Million Daily Users, Gets Soundtrack Feature

    Instagram Stories which now has 400 million daily users is now receiving soundtrack feature on Android and iOS app in 6 countries. Starting today, users will be able to add background music to their Instagram stories in the app. Users can choose from more than thousand songs available directly in the app.

   How to use the music sticker? Users can tap on the music icon that they see while posting in the Instagram Stories. Select a song from the list of thousand of songs. Instagram says that a new song will be added very day. There are also filters for searching the song like based on mood or what's popular. User can listen to the preview of the song before adding it in the background. Instagram also allows user to pick the song before recording a video. The feature is available for both iOS and Android but the ability to add choose music before recording is limited to iOS only for now. The company may roll out the feature globally.

   One thing that Instagram is sure leading with these days is the number of updates it is adding to the platform. Being one of the important revenue generating platform for Facebook, Instagram is making sure that it continues to be one of the most widely used photo-sharing app and therefore has added host of features in the past few months.
    Instagram, only few days ago, launched IGTV app. It offers the ability to post long-format videos in Instagram with vertical orientation support. The app is available for download from Play Store.

    Facebook has also launched a skimmed version of Instagram- Instagram Lite for emerging markets like India. Instagram which already has more than one billion users in India hopes to add another one billion with the Lite app. Instagram Lite is 573k in size and is compatible with older phones having memory. The app allows to add filter and post photos to the feed or Stories, watch Stories and browse the Explore page. The ability to message friends and share videos is yet to come to it. It is available for phone running Android 5.0 or above.
